I’m Glad I Have Something to Look Forward to this Summer

Wow, my first year at college has been incredible. When I look back on all of the things that I have done and learned during my first two semesters in college, it’s amazing how much I have managed to pack into such a short period of time. People have always told me that college is the best time of your life, and while I was originally skeptical of this statement, now that I have gotten to experience college for myself, I really believe that this statement is correct.

Because this period of time has been so busy for me, I actually was not looking forward to this summer. That may sound strange, but I will be away from school for almost a full three months, and during the one month winter break, it didn’t take long for me to get bored in that short period of time.

Since I’m too young to get an internship, I thought I was going to be stuck working a boring summer job. However, when I found out about a study abroad program in Greece, I instantly knew that was exactly what I wanted to do this summer. It was a long application process, but I’m happy to say that I will be spending my summer “studying” in Greece!

My Parents Still Treat Me So Well

Although I am a college graduate with a great job, my parents still love to spoil me. I guess it’s because I am their only child, but regardless of my age, my parents have always gone above and beyond to make sure that I am happy. Now, I don’t want you to get me wrong; I’m not one of those spoiled girls who expects their parents to give them everything regardless of how mean or rude they are. No, in fact, I am the complete opposite. Whether it’s tiny or huge, I am always appreciative of every single thing that my parents do to make my life better for me.

To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, I’ll tell you what my parents got me for Christmas. For the Christmas that just took place around a month ago, my parents gave me a two week long trip to Greece. Not only did this gift include my plane ticket, but it also included my hotel room and a rental car for the full two weeks. As you can see, this is an extremely generous gift, and although I told my parents it was too much, they simply told me that they were happy to see me so excited.

A Trip to Greece is a Special Experience

Although most people take a variety of trips over the course of their life, there are always a couple of trips that really stand out above all of the rest. I’m still young, so I feel like I have plenty of time to continue traveling and to visit some really amazing places, but it hasn’t been that long since I took a trip that I believe will always be at the top of my list for the best trips that I have ever taken.

The trip that I am talking about was the trip I took to Greece in the middle of last year. Just getting to go to Greece for a couple of days would have been an amazing experience, but the reason that my trip was so incredibly special was because I went to Greece for a total of three and a half weeks. Yup, you read that correctly; I got to spend a full three and a half weeks in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I can’t even begin to discuss everything I did (because there were so many things), but I can safely say that I’m going to have a lot of great memories for the rest of my life.

I Had Such a Romantic Trip

Even though we have been married for over fifteen years, I still view my husband as a very romantic man. I think that this is a huge accomplishment for him, because I have friends who have only been married for half as long as I have, but they still tell me that they feel like their husbands don’t care about them anymore because they never feel like their husbands makes an effort to be romantic.

If you want proof that my husband is still romantic after fifteen years of marriage, let’s talk about my most recent birthday. While I know women who receive awful gifts from their husbands on their birthdays (such as kitchen appliances), my husband knows how to get gifts that will touch my heart.

For this year’s birthday, my husband gave me an amazing gift. The gift was a trip for the two of us to Greece for an entire week and a half. We had to wait awhile to actually go on our trip, but after getting to experience life in Greece, I can say that every second I waited was well worth it.
